Available Cycle Shelters & parking facilities: The type of cycle parking you purchase will depend on your budget. For schools, you may be eligible for funding via school travel plans. Able Canopies offer a wide range of cycle racks as these are the most popular type of cycle parking. We offer the Sheffield stand design which is recommended by organisations such as Sustrans. View our range of cycle racks here. The Bike Box is becoming increasingly popular within town centres, schools and sports centres. Personal possessions such as helmets, pumps and shopping bags can be securely stored along with cycles. Cycle shelters provide protection from the elements as well as high security as the toast racks are attached to the frame of the shelter and allow users to lock both the frame and the wheel. Cycle compoundswith lockable gates are the most secure shelters available on the market today. These offer excellent security. At a school, the gates can be opened in the morning and then opened again at the end of the day. |

Cycle initiatives
There are a number of schemes which encourage children to cycle to school and one of the best we have seen is
.
With the government encouraging children to be more eco-friendly, purchasing secure cycle facilities, can help with this as well as encourage you to swap a car trip to walk, cycle or car sharehttp://www.changeyourworld.org.uk/.
The safety of the roads often puts children off cycling to school. It is important for parents to feel at ease sending their children to school on bikes but if the ground is uneven or has pot holes this can often make parents keener to drive their children to school rather than allowing them to cycle. Encourage children to report these pot holes by entering the information on http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/. Once reported the local council will arrive shortly to fill in the pothole.
