FAIRWAY PRIMARY SCHOOL HAS OUTDOOR LEARNING COVERED

Thanks to brand new canopy installation, Fairway Primary School’s children can enjoy the outdoors come rain or shine.
Staff and pupils of Fairway Primary School are thrilled with their new canopy which was designed, manufactured and fitted by school specialists Able Canopies.

The school prides itself on the happy and caring learning environment they offer to pupils of the school, ensuring each child is given the best opportunity to succeed in their future. Since the installation of the new canopy, the children can get out and enjoy the fresh air, whatever the weather. The new canopy provides a long-lasting extension to the nursery classroom, broadening the schools outdoor curriculum. There is now constant access to the fenced garden area which has a flower border garden and vegetable plot that the children have helped create.

Foundation teacher, Nina Hurst (pictured) is delighted with the new installation; ‘The canopy has opened up a whole new prospective for the children. Our active learners are particularly benefiting from being in the outdoors – the boys love it. It’s an additional learning experience for the children to enjoy and it’s situated away from the older pupils of the school so they’re not disturbed.’

The canopy has not just proved popular with the children. ‘Mums, Dads and Grandparents are more than happy to take shelter from the weather whilst waiting for their children,’ says Nina.
Able Canopies worked closely with staff at the school to ensure all needs were met before, during and after the installation. Nina continues, ‘Able Canopies were brilliant to work with. They were all very kind and attentive, we’d definitely recommend. They even mended our bike shelter whilst they were here!’
