Funding for Nurseries & Pre-Schools

The government have allocated £642 million during 2008 to 2011 through the Quality and Access Capital Grant. This was formerly known as the Early Years Capital Grant. The funding is to be used to improve the quality of the environment in private, voluntary and independent early years and childcare settings. (Source: www.parliament.uk)

We have spoken to a number of councils who have said that nurseries who are eligible for funding have been sent a letter reminding them to use the funding which is available to them.

Hertfordshire Community Foundation Grant - Offers grants up to £5,000 for local charity and voluntary groups.

Playground Partnerships - Children are asked to produce a portfolio of design for their school playground with a chance to win up to £10,000 to have their playground dreams made real.

Play England - Offers advice, information and links to currant grants available.
