Funding for schools
Below are a list of links which can help with funding at your school. We are constantly updating our links so please check regularly for the latest information:
Every school in England is eligible for support towards the funding of cycle shelters, canopies, parent waiting shelters and storage lockers. Primary schools can receive £3750.00 + £5 per pupil and secondary schools £5000 + per pupil.
A good School Travel Plan (STP) is a great place to start. A child-centred one, that considers the bigger picture and builds on small steps to gradually change travel behaviour. If you do this, and get the whole school community involved in creating the STP, you're definitely going in the right direction. Perhaps your school might get a Sustrans Bike It officer to increase cycling levels, or you could apply for cycle storage funding?
Baily Thomas Charitable Fund - The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund donates grants of up to £5000 to schools working with young people with learning disabilities. Grants can be used for capital building, renovation and refurbishment and play schemes. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Awards for All - A very informative site which offers grants of between £300 and £10,000 to voluntary and community groups including schools. The Awards for All programme aims to help improve local communities
Biffaward - Community funding scheme which offers grants of between £5,000 and £50,000.
The Foyle Foundation - An independent grant making trust that distributes grants to UK charities in the areas of Arts and Learning
The Gannett Foundation - A charitable arm of Newsquest Ltd, one of the UK's largest publishers. You can apply for grants between £1,000 and £5,000 to help support projects in a number of sectors including education.
The Sorrell Foundation - The Sorrell Foundation have adapted the joinedupdesignforschools process which allows pupils the opportunity to have a say in the way their school is changed by the BSF and Primary Capitals programmes and also have their own funding available.

The Ragdoll Foundation- The grants are for projects, activities or events which promote the education and development of young children.
Durrants Den- Win funding for projects in a fun way
Cabe- Education Grants
Aggregates Levy Sustainability- Grant scheme for projects aiming to increase biodiversity and conserve geological features in areas affected by aggregate extraction. Fundable projects include those with educational objectives. Grants up to a total value of £350,000 per project.
The Ford Britain Trust - Ford pay special attention to projects focusing on education, environment, children, the disabled, youth activities and projects that provide clear benefits to the local communities close to their UK locations and offer grants from £250 - £3,000. The large Grant deadline is 4th May 2012
