The subject and processes of sustainable living are far-reaching and often misinterpreted. Simply put, it is manifested by adopting a lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual’s or society’s use of the Earth’s natural resources.

From inception, this philosophy has been championed by Alfresco Rooms and has been a key feature in our progression of product creation and development, manufacturing processes and delivering an environmentally beneficial alternative.

Our fundamental contribution is based on increased energy efficiency by retention, preservation and recirculation. This is achieved through a balanced use of contemporary technologies. Government approved air to air heat pumps efficiently provide front line, controllable temperature input; cutting-edge eco-thermic, insulative roof panels and ‘A’ rated glazing units ensure this valued use of energy is not wasted. That which is exhausted through necessary ventilation, may be recycled with mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) systems suitably deployed.

The eco-thermic panels are designed to defend against unwanted solar gain and thermal loss. Presented in a reflective matt white, weatherproof external finish, the core of our space-age panel consists of an amorphous silicon dioxide powder and an inorganic opacifier. The panel is cleverly sealed under vacuum into a metallized high barrier film and finally, the underside is finished in white to take maximum advantage of natural daylight. This lightweight, rigid ‘sandwich’ almost entirely negates heat loss through the roofing structure.
