Which Cycle Parking is Right for You?

Create the Perfect Cycle Parking SolutionWhen it comes to purchasing a cycle parking facility for your school or organisation, there are a couple factors that you need to consider to ensure the product you purchase is the most practical solution. Your new cycle storage area will need to fulfil the requirements of the potential users and also fit in with your outside area too.

So how do you find the product that will accomplish all of that and more? Well, I have created a handy chart below that shows what each type of cyclist generally requires from a cycle parking area to give you more of an idea of where to start.

“Very pleased with the installation of our cycle shelter & storage. All the staff have been very helpful and attentive. The cycle shelter looks really impressive! Thank you.”

Cycle Racks are ideal for areas with limited space, bikes can easily be secured to them and they are available in a range of sizes to suit children and adults. Cycle racks on their own do not offer any coverage from the weather or any additional security.

If you purchase bikes racks only, then the bikes would be fully visible to all passersby and this option is therefore not ideal for areas of possible crime.

Cycle Shelters
All Saints CE Junior School, Peterborough, Lancashire - Grasmere Timber Cycle ShelterI would say that Cycle Shelters are almost certainly the most ideal product for most needs. They are usually installed with cycle racks and therefore offer a place to lean and secure bikes to, they cover bicycles from the elements and the side & roof panels are can be supplied clear for full visibility inside if required.

We are able to supply cycle shelters cycle racks, scooter racks, benches or a mixture to create a multi-use shelter.

Cycle Compounds

They offer full coverage from the elements with roof and side panels which can be supplied in clear for full visibility. They are usually supplied with cycle racks to secure & lean to bikes to and also secure lockable doors for ultimate protection from theft and vandalism.

Cycle compounds are rather spacious and can accommodate lockers to offer additional storage for cycling gear etc.

I hope the above information has been helpful in your quest to find the perfect cycle parking facility and that you are now able to offer your cyclists a suitable bike storage area.

“We started our project of having a new shelter installed at our Guiding Centre back in 2010. Since our initial enquiry Able Canopies have stuck with us all the way. We have had a few ups and downs along the way (with regards to needing planning, raising funds and having a tree nearby which is protected etc.), and Able Canopies have always been there to answer our enquiries. There were moments when we thought we would never be able to have our shelter.

Able Canopies always kept in touch with us to see how we were getting on with the project, and were not once pushy in any way. We really would like to thank Paul Townsend and his team in particular. They were always at the end of the telephone, were really understanding, motivating us to keep going.

We now have our dream shelter which is better looking than we ever thought, is fit for purpose and fits in really well with the surrounding environment. We have had lots of positive comments about it and we are really proud of it.

A Huge Thank-you to Able Canopies for our amazing new shelter for mobility scooters and bicycles, and for being such a wonderful team.”
