My Favourite Suffolk Installation so far

It’s that time of the year again when I have to choose a favourite installation from the past three months. Well as usual it has been quite a hard decision as we have installed some stunning structures, but I think my favourite has to the Hamilton Big Span Canopy that we installed at Springfield Junior School in Ipswich, Suffolk.

I chose this installation as my favourite for a number of reasons, first and foremost I have to admit that I am a big fan of the Hamilton Big Span Canopy, I love the industrial looking roof beams and its ability to span extra-large lengths and widths.

I also think that the design with the front fills and an open entrance works brilliantly for the school, allowing them to use it as an outdoor classroom, gaining a great deal of weather protection whilst still being out in the fresh air with a full view of the sky. I also like the way that the school required a canopy to fit into a space that was’ blocked in’ if you like by buildings, and the canopy enables them to use this space that would otherwise be at a loss.

What do you think of this installation? I also love the colour too (Pure Orange – RAL 2004), it’s not often that we are asked to supply an orange canopy!
