Featured Installation: The Centre for Engineering Manufacturing Excellence.

My favourite installations are not always chosen for the product type or the colour of the product, it can quite often also be for the environment that the canopies are installed in and the use they will acquire. ITM Power contracted Able Canopies Ltd. to supply and install a number of free standing canopies over their hydrogen fuelling stations at various locations across the UK. This was a first for us as we had never installed over any of these … Continue reading

My Favourite Suffolk Installation so far

It’s that time of the year again when I have to choose a favourite installation from the past three months. Well as usual it has been quite a hard decision as we have installed some stunning structures, but I think my favourite has to the Hamilton Big Span Canopy that we installed at Springfield Junior School in Ipswich, Suffolk. I chose this installation as my favourite for a number of reasons, first and foremost I have to admit that I … Continue reading

My Favourite Awning Installation So Far..

My favourite awning installation so far has to be the Darwin Awning that we installed at Roman and Saxon Court in October 2014. Kier Construction were completing a project for Cross Key Homes, building a new block of flats for the over 55’s and we were excited to be asked to be a part of it. The new flats would offer the residents independence and a sense of community. The reason why I have chosen this installation as my favourite … Continue reading

My Favourite Portsmouth Installation So Far…

An installation that I’m really pleased with is a cycle and mobility shelter we installed at the Crofton Guiding Centre in Stubbington. Although it is not one of our biggest installation there is a special reason why everyone at Able Canopies loves this installation and the story behind it… Crofton Guiding Centre first contacted us back in 2011 regarding a shelter for a number of bikes and a mobility scooter. There were quite a few challenges to overcome before the … Continue reading

My Favourite Leicestershire Installation

We have just received images for an installation we completed in October and I just had to share them with you! We installed two Kensington Mono-Pitch Free Standing Canopies at two new retail units in Fosse Shopping Park in Leicester, Leicestershire. This is one of my favourite installations because I think the canopies fit in with the buildings perfectly! As you can see from the images, the shops are glass fronted buildings that have grey frames. The entrance canopies we … Continue reading

My Favourite Cambridgeshire Installation

Earlier this year (2014), we installed two stunning Grasmere Timber Clad Cycle Shelters at All Saints CE Junior School in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. These cycle shelters allow the schools’ pupils to securely park up to a total of 32 bicycles with the use of double sided parking. We cladded the shelters with Western Red Cedar wood that is sustainably sourced from FSC and PEFC accredited timber merchants. I love this installation because the cycle shelters look great in the school’s setting and … Continue reading

My Favourite Shade Sail Installation so far…

My favourite Shade Sail installation so far has to be the array that we installed at Farnham Green Primary School in August of this year (2014). The reason why I’ve chose this as my favourite installation is because of the range of bright and vibrant colours that the school picked and also the different heights in the layers of the Shade Sails. Farnham Green Primary School had 9 Shade Sails installed all together in 3 different sizes. Three cherry red … Continue reading
