Carew Academy – Grasmere Timber Clad Bin Shelter
In November 2024, we supplied and installed a bespoke bin store, 7m x 4m, based on a Grasmere Timber Clad Shelter at Carew Academy in Wallington, Surrey.
As a later addition to the Carew Academy project, the school identified the need to further enhance its external waste management provision by introducing a dedicated bin shelter. The objective was to protect school waste from the elements, minimise the risk of vandalism or unauthorised access, and maintain the clean, organised appearance of the new campus. A secure and purpose-built solution would ensure the surrounding outdoor areas remained safe, practical and visually cohesive.
Able Canopies fulfilled this requirement with an attractive bespoke timber-clad shelter, designed to complement the new school building while delivering robust, long-lasting protection. The finished structure not only improves site security and tidiness but also aligns with the overall aesthetic of the development, reinforcing a high-quality and well-considered external environment.
For another classroom, we installed a Grange Junior Freestanding Canopy, creating a bright, weather-protected space that supports outdoor learning throughout the year. Click to find out more about Carew Academy’s Grange Junior Freestanding Canopy installation.
We also supplied and installed two Coniston Freestanding Canopies, featuring a contemporary mono-pitch design and durable steel framework to provide generous, year-round shelter. Click to view the full details and photographs from Carew Academy’s Coniston Freestanding Canopies installation.
