A Lot of Love for the Abberton Entrance Canopy
Darlington Borough Council is in the process of completing a new-build housing development in North Darlington which plans to build a total of 1000 affordable home over a 10 year period.
Since 2017, we have supplied and installed 21 entrances canopies for a selection of the new homes they have built so far, on three of their sites including Allington Way, Hammond Drive and Fenby Avenue.
The canopies we installed were all the Abberton Entrance Canopy and provide weather protection to the main entrances of several apartment blocks, enabling residents and visitors to keep dry and sheltered whilst entering the buildings throughout the whole year.
The Abberton worked perfectly for these projects because it has a contemporary, cantilevered design with perforated brackets that gives off a subtle industrial appearance. The frame is constructed from high grade aluminium which is naturally rust resistant, and is covered with 4mm solid polycarbonate sheets which have a curved glass appearance, yet are much stronger. This means that the Abberton will last for many, many years to come, making it the perfect choice for a long-term entrance canopy on residential buildings.
It has been a pleasure to work with Darlington Borough Council on these projects and we hope to continue working with them as their housing project continues into the future.
