Planning a Successful Film Night

Planning a Successful Film Night

Running a film club is a great way to raise funds for your PTA and also brings teachers, parents and children together for an event they can all enjoy and talk about afterwards!

Some larger cinemas can be quite pricey when it comes to taking the whole family out to watch a film, by charging less than the average cinema charge; you will attract more parents to watch films at your event as it will be more affordable for them.

Although you won’t be able screen films at the same time that they are in the cinema, you can purchase the rights to screen a film 3–4 months after they have been in the cinemas from Filmbank Distributers Ltd.

Not only can you screen newly released films but you can also screen the classics, which are great for around Christmas time, as you can decorate the school hall with Christmas decorations and put on a classic Christmas film that children and adults will love getting them in the Christmas spirit ready for your Christmas fair!

You can hold films specifically for adults and films specifically for children. Serving popcorn and cold soft drinks will give a real cinema feel to your event and without the high prices.

You will require a licence to hold such an event, Filmbank Distributors Ltd holds useful information on their website about the licences available depending on the type of event you plan to hold and weather you would like to charge admission or not. Find out more about the licences required here.
