The Brief

Redriff Primary School is a large school in Southwark, London that teaches children from the age of 3 to 11. In July 2013, they contacted us because they required a wall mounted timber canopy to be installed in their playground that would enable their children to play and learn outside all year round.

It was important to them that the canopy would provide protection from all weather conditions such as sun, rain and snow and they also required the structure to be constructed from timber so that it fitted in with the natural surroundings of the school rather than the building.

The Solution
We have two wall mounted timber canopies within our product range which are the Tarnhow Curved wall mounted timber canopy and the Tarnhow Mono wall mounted timber canopy. The school chose the Tarnhow Curved wall mounted timber canopy because they liked the curved design rather than the straight mono-pitch design.

This striking canopy also ticked all of the boxes for the school; it offers protection from the weather all year round, it is a wall mounted structure and it is fully constructed from timber and therefore has the natural appearance that the school required.

The installation
was scheduled for October 2013, over 5 days. The canopy was installed on time with no problems and the school was very happy with the end result.

“The team have been cooperative, worked flexibly with the school, communicated well with us and have been very hard working. We are very happy with the shelter, thank you.”
