Maeglas Primary School – Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy

In August 2026, we supplied and installed a 6m x 3m Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy at Maeglas Primary School in Gillingham, Kent.

Maeglas Primary School wanted to enhance its outdoor facilities by creating a permanent sheltered area that pupils and staff could make greater use of throughout the year. The school required a durable, low-maintenance solution that would provide reliable weather protection while creating a comfortable space for outdoor learning, play and social activities.

Following a site survey and assessment of the school’s requirements, Able Canopies recommended the Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy, one of our most popular school canopy systems. Featuring a robust aluminium frame and durable polycarbonate roofing, the completed canopy provides dependable protection from rain alongside high levels of UV protection during sunny weather. The new covered area has transformed the previously exposed outdoor space into a versatile, all-weather environment, helping Maeglas Primary School extend outdoor learning and play opportunities throughout the seasons.

Back in July 2025, Able Canopies supplied and installed a 38.55m x 4m Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy at Bishop Young Church of England Academy in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The canopy created a large, sheltered area outside the school, providing pupils and staff with valuable protection from the weather when using the space and entering or leaving the building. Almost a year later, the academy returned to Able Canopies, looking to enhance their existing canopy with additional weather protection.
