Melanie Bailey, Brentside Primary School’s site administrator contacted us in January 2012 requesting a free site survey as they had 3 areas within their school grounds that they required shelter for.

A free site survey was arranged promptly and during their survey the school and our surveyor were able to come to a decision of what product would work best for the needs of the school and those that would be using the shelters.

We sent out a quotation for two Coniston Wall Mounted Canopies and two Langdale Waiting Shelters as we felt these suited Brentside Primary’s needs best. The Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy is Able Canopies’ most popular product, it can be used for range of different shelter types such as a playground canopy, an outside classroom, a walkway, an entrance canopy, an events canopy and much more. It is fully constructed from aluminium with 35mm polycarbonate roof sheets and offers many benefits such as high UV protection and a 10 year guarantee. The Langdale Cycle Shelter is a strong steel shelter that is covered with a choice of 5mm or 10mm polycarbonate roof sheets. It can be utilised as a cycle shelter with cycle racks or waiting shelter without or without benches.

The school held a meeting and came to a decision that the products that Able Canopies offered would be most suitable and chose Able Canopies as their supplier because we offered the best price, they received no sales pressure from us and we offered additional benefits such as planning permission.

Brentside Primary placed the order in March 2012 for one Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy & two Langdale Waiting Shelters. They were fully aware that due to their local council’s regulations, they would require planning permission for any permanent shelter structures that they planned to install at the school, and so Melanie asked if we could assist with the planning permission forms and we were more than happy to do so. We offer to guide all our customers through the planning process free of charge, making it as stress-free as possible for our customers.

In August 2012, Planning permission was granted and we were able to go ahead with the installation of the canopy and shelters. As with all of our installations, a pre-site meeting was arranged to check that everything was prepared for the installation date. During the meeting, Melanie explained that she would like a number of school benches to be installed under the shelters to create a sheltered seating area. Our surveyor confirmed the following day that the benches she has chosen would work perfectly with the shelters and these were added to the order.

Brentside Primary School opted for eight Burnside Backed Benches with novelty Giraffe end panels. These bright and colourful benches fit well within school and early year’s environments, offering children a fun place to sit and gain shelter from the sun or poor weather conditions such as rain.

All products were installed in the October half term holidays as requested and there were no issues along the way; the canopy, shelter and benches were all installed on time and within the stated timescale.

“Excellent installation, very happy with installers. They are polite and accommodating and kept me up to date with progress. The shelters and benches look great and I would recommend Able Canopies from start to finish. Very impressed with the whole company.”
