The Brief
Leaf Hotels Group were in the process of upgrading their hotel in Kent and rebranding it to the ‘Holiday Inn Dover’. As part of the extensive overhaul, the Group Procurement Manager from Leaf Hotels Group contacted us in September 2020, in need of a canopy to cover the main entrance to the building.
They were keen to have the canopy installed before they reopened and therefore required a site survey as soon as possible. Due to availability, we were able to send our local Area Sales Manager to visit the hotel and carry out a full site survey within a couple of days.
During the survey, it was established that there were two main products of interest; the Whiteside Entrance Canopy which can be installed as a free standing or wall mounted structure, and the Ullswater Apex Free Standing Entrance Canopy.
The Solution
They preferred the idea of a steel and polycarbonate canopy and liked the aesthetics of a curved roof to contrast with the straight lines of the hotel building. They also required a canopy that could be supplied with guttering and have the frame powder coated in the RAL colour 7035 – Light Grey.
Once the survey was completed, the staff from Leaf Hotels Group and the hotel both agreed that a free-standing Whiteside Entrance Canopy was the perfect shade and shelter solution. This is because it benefits from all the features they require, plus it fell perfectly within their budget and we were able to install it within a couple of weeks.
The Installation
The canopy installation went ahead with no issues and took just two days to install as planned on the 8th and 9th October 2020.
With the canopy being situated at the main entrance, night work may usually be required at a hospitality setting however, as the hotel was currently closed due to the renovations, we were fine to install during the day.
All staff were pleased with the end result and were excited to re-open the Hotel and welcome their guests.
