Ringland Community Centre – Shade Sails

In March 2026, we supplied and installed a 6m x 6m Able Shade Sail at Ringland Community Centre in Newport, South Wales.

Ringland Community Centre was looking to enhance its outdoor space with a safe and practical solution that would allow visitors of all ages to enjoy activities throughout the year without being limited by intense sunlight. As part of a wider facility improvement delivered by Newport Norse, Able Canopies was approached to provide a suitable shading solution. Following a detailed consultation and site assessment, our team worked closely with the contractor to ensure the proposed design met the centre’s needs.

To achieve this, we recommended and installed our Able Shade Sails, a modern and visually striking solution designed to deliver high levels of UV protection. These tensile structures provide up to 99% protection from harmful UV rays, creating a comfortable and inviting outdoor environment for learning, play and social interaction. With durable construction, the shade sails have transformed the space into a functional, all-season area that can be enjoyed safely by the local community.
