Herne View Primary School – Coniston Freestanding Canopy

In September 2026, we supplied and installed a 10 m x 4m Coniston Freestanding Canopy at Herne View Primary School in Ilminster, Somerset.

Herne View Primary School wanted to improve the outdoor environment even more by creating a permanent sheltered area for pupils and staff to use more often throughout the year. The school needed a practical, long-lasting solution which would provide shelter from the unpredictable British weather and give more opportunities for outdoor learning, play and socialising.

Able Canopies supplied and installed a Coniston Freestanding Canopy after assessing the site and the school’s needs. The Coniston comes with a strong, rust-proof aluminium frame and 35mm structured polycarbonate roofing to ensure you are well-protected from the elements whilst also enjoying high levels of UV protection.

The completed school canopy has transformed the previously exposed area into a multi-purpose outdoor space that can be used all year round, helping Herne View Primary School to maximise its grounds throughout the seasons whilst providing pupils with a comfortable environment for learning, playing and socialising outdoors.
