Byron Primary School – Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy

In October 2026, we supplied and installed a Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy at Byron Primary School in Gillingham, Kent.

Byron Primary School wanted to give pupils more opportunities to learn, play and spend time outdoors, with permanent shelter to make the space more practical throughout the school year. Working with Houghton & Son Ltd on these improvements, the school required a durable, low-maintenance canopy that would complement its facilities and provide dependable weather protection. Houghton & Son Ltd contacted Able Canopies® to help develop a suitable solution.

Following a site survey and assessment of the requirements, we recommended our Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy. The installation combines a 7 m × 3 m section with a connected 8 m × 3.5 m section, adapting the coverage to the available space.

The completed school canopy has turned a previously exposed area into a welcoming, sheltered setting for outdoor learning, play and social activities. By creating connected coverage tailored to the site, Byron Primary School can now make greater use of its outdoor facilities, giving pupils and staff more flexibility as the seasons change.
