Shade Sail F.A.Q’s
1. Do they give us much protection from the sun?
The fabric of the Able Shade Sails block up to 96% of UV rays. The fabric is UV stabilised offering the best protection from the sun’s harmful rays.
2. Are they waterproof?
Our shade sails are not waterproof as they are manufactured to provide excellent protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays using the highest grade commercial shade cloth. We do offer an excellent range of Waterproof Shade Sails and other fabric structures; see our Tensile Fabric Structures.
3. What colours is the fabric available in?
The Shade Sail fabric is available in 14 bright and vibrant colours, please click here to view the full colour range > Shade Sail Fabric Colours
4. Can we take them down at the end of the day?
Our shade sails are permanent structures. They are designed specifically to be left outdoors 365 days a year and will not need re-tensioning.
5. Why do the structures not need re-tensioning?
Able Shade Sails use stainless steel cables which keep the sails tight and do not allow them to sag over time. This means shade sails will not need re-tensioning.
6. Can we attach the sails to our own installed posts?
The posts that we attach the sails to are set in concrete to a maximum depth of 2 metres. If you have existing posts, one of our surveyors will need to come out to examine the posts to see if they are suitable.
