What Happens on a Site Survey?

What Happens on a Site Survey?

After introductions, our surveyor will discuss your project in more detail and record key information in our Fact Finder document. This helps our design team prepare an accurate quotation and ensures we match the right product options to your needs.

With your permission, we will then visit the proposed installation area to take measurements and photographs. These images help us produce a clear, well-informed quotation, and, where helpful, we can superimpose canopy visuals onto your photographs so you can see how the structure might look in place.

We will also note potential considerations such as existing buildings, nearby trees, fences, underground services, or access restrictions.

Before leaving, we complete a second brief form covering colour preferences, product choices, and optional features. If you already know the size or model you’re interested in, we can often provide a preliminary cost estimate during the visit.

Your Survey Pack

At the end of the appointment, you’ll receive a survey pack containing helpful information about Able Canopies, including:

  • Our company story and experience

  • Comparison checklists

  • Health & safety policies and accreditation details

  • Proof of insurance

  • Our latest product brochure

  • Guides such as The Good Canopy Guide and the A–Z Fundraising Pack

This pack is designed to support your decision-making and demonstrate the standards and credentials you can expect when working with Able Canopies.

After the Survey

A typical survey takes 30–60 minutes, depending on project complexity. Once complete, our office team will prepare a clear, transparent quotation. Unless otherwise stated, your quotation will include supply, delivery, installation, and making good, with no hidden extras.

Should you need planning permission, our team can support you with the documentation required for your local authority.
