Featured Installation: The Centre for Engineering Manufacturing Excellence.
My favourite installations are not always chosen for the product type or the colour of the product, it can quite often also be for the environment that the canopies are installed in and the use they will acquire.
ITM Power contracted Able Canopies Ltd. to supply and install a number of free standing canopies over their hydrogen fuelling stations at various locations across the UK.
This was a first for us as we had never installed over any of these structures, I guess because they are not as common as your regular fuelling pumps such as petrol and diesel.
These machines are expensive items and therefore require robust canopies to provide protection from the weather as well as accidents. The canopies installed by Able Canopies Ltd. protects the hydrogen fuelling stations from the weather as well as creating an easily noticeable boundary, reducing the risk of collisions.
We have installed three Kensington Mono-Pitch Free Standing Canopies so far, one at the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP), another at the National Physics Laboratory (NPL) and another (as pictured) at the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME).
The canopy as CEME is 6m x 3m and was gloss powder coated in Hipca White (RAL 9910) with 5mm solid polycarbonate roof sheets.
