Dartington Church of England Primary School

Dartington Church of England Primary School

Kier Construction got in contact with us as they were working on a project at Dartington Primary School in Devon. They were looking to add outdoor cover to six different areas of the school grounds, including sand pits, and also wanted to add a cycle shelter to the grounds.

Our timber framed Tarnhow system was perfect for this challenge. Not only did timber fit in well with the buildings and school grounds, it was also a cost effective solution.

The outcome was an impressive and complex installation totalling over 120 metres in length, with projections varying from 4m up to 7.88m. Innovative new fixings and expert fitting were all part of providing the school with the shade and shelter that they required.

Here’s what Jamie Knode from Atkins Global Architects had to say about Able Canopies:
“We have been very pleased with Able Canopies’ system. The team at Able Canopies have been very flexible and adaptable in helping us to achieve our vision for the project. There were a lot of technical details that needed to be worked through and they were there at every stage of the process.”
