In April 2013 Able Canopies created two shade & shelter structures for Birchwood Grove CP School in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.
The school’s business manager explained that they required a provision of shelter for the year one classes to match the requirements of the reception class. They were looking for a school canopy that would offer high UV protection and that would keep in line with the existing fence they had in place. These canopies were to be installed outside the newly built year 1 classrooms and would create shelter above the enclosed play areas for the young pupils.
Above: Image shows the original building plans which includes the fences that the canopies were to be installed within.
Able Canopies suggested the Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy with a twist to the front so that it would follow the shape of the existing fence as requested. The Coniston stood out as the most suitable canopy as it would fit all of the client’s requirements including high UV protection and its versatility, which makes it possible for the canopy to fit around building shapes and obstacles as required. The Coniston can also be powder coated to any standard RAL colour to match current colour schemes and is a fully aluminium construction with a robust polycarbonate roof making it one of the strongest canopies on the market.
The school’s staff and governors’ were pleased with Able Canopies’ proposal and favoured their product over the two competing companies that were also quoting for this project.
The school’s business manager was happy to place the order and requested that the canopies would be installed during the Easter holiday to ensure there would be no disruption to the school’s daily routine. This was a realistic timescale for Able Canopies and they agreed with the dates required.
The School placed their order in March and the Able Canopies fitting team installed the two canopies within 3 days during the Easter holidays as requested. The installation went smoothly and the staff at the school were impressed with the service and product received from Able Canopies.
“The canopies are directly outside the classroom and are used on a daily basis. It extends the children’s ability to play and work outdoors.”
– Roger Sinclair, Business Manager – Birchwood Grove CP School
“From start to finish, Able Canopies have been excellent. Great service from initial contact through to completion, knowledgeable staff who kept us informed, installation teams who really did put every effort into the task and not one iota of dodgy sales or technical jargon anywhere. It is almost impossible to do justice to the quality of their product, value for money and thorough professionalism in a mere paragraph of feedback. Do yourself a favour, if you’re looking for a canopy company, call Able [Canopies] because you won’t be disappointed.”
– Matt Ring, Premises Manager – Birchwood Grove CP School
