University of Chester – Kendal Cantilever Canopy

In April 2026, we supplied and installed a 24m x 5m Kendal Cantilever Tensile Fabric Canopy at the University of Chester in Chester, Cheshire.

The University of Chester approached Able Canopies with the aim of enhancing their outdoor environment by creating a comfortable and accessible space for students and visitors to enjoy. The existing area required improvement to better support everyday use, so following a detailed site assessment, our team recommended a solution that would maximise both functionality and visual appeal while seamlessly integrating with the surrounding setting.

To achieve this, a Kendal Cantilever Walkway Canopy was installed, providing reliable, all-weather protection from both rain and sun. Its contemporary cantilevered design creates an open, unobstructed space beneath, making it ideal for high-traffic environments where flexibility is key. Manufactured using durable, low-maintenance materials, the canopy has transformed the area into a practical and inviting outdoor space, supporting social interaction and year-round usability for students and guests alike.
