Jack’s Favourite Installations of All Time

To continue celebrating our 20^th year of trading, Jack Johnson, our Project Account Manager shared his favourite installations with us.

Having been with the company for six years and specialising in the larger projects with contractors and Architects, Jack has worked on some impressive jobs. So, picking just one favourite was an impossible task however, he came up with a great selection of favourite installations. Read on to discover them.

Nishkam School, West London

Jack’s first choice is Nishkam School in West London were we installed three Tarnhow Curved Freestanding Timber Canopies and three Ulverston Commercial Umbrellas in 2022. He went on to explain: “It was the largest project I’ve worked on to date, and the most interesting as we had full design flexibility, and they had a decent sized budget to work with. Plus, they were mostly all Tarnhow timber canopies, which are my favourite systems to work with.”

Engayne Primary School, Essex

We installed a stunning array of 10 Shade Sails in bright, vibrant colours at Engayne Primary School in Upminster Essex in 2024. It’s impossible not to love this project as Jack explained: “This was the first large span shade sail array I worked with, and I think the end result is excellent.”

St Andrews C of E Primary School, West Sussex

In 2023, we supplied and installed our popular Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy at St Andrews C of E Primary School. The canopy which covers a total length of 69 metres, provides shade and shelter along all the buildings within their courtyard, creating seamless weather protection from the indoors to the outdoors. When asked why this was one of his favourite projects he said: “I love how smart the canopy looks and the way it creates a feature of the courtyard area. It provides so much cover from the weather, that the children can benefit from all year round.”

Carew Academy, Surrey

Towards the end of 2024, we completed a large project at Carew Academy for Kier Construction which consisted of a bespoke Bin Shelter, a bespoke Grange Junior Freestanding Canopy, and two bespoke Coniston freestanding canopies. Here’s what Jack had to say about the project: “As a large-scale project, it presented its fair share of challenges and obstacles. However, those challenges made it one of the most valuable learning experiences for me. As a result, it stands out as one of my most memorable and enjoyable projects—after all, we all love a good challenge, don’t we?”
